The Objective
At the time, The Headfunk was an upcoming podcast that wanted a website before it was launched in order to establish their brand feeling and to have a place to publish podcast episodes & blog content.
It was important to the client to have an easy to use website for their
audience, so that they could easily reference pages from the site during
podcast episodes, pages such as the recommended resources & show-notes.
Our objective is saving the world. It’s dangerous; death is
practically a certainty, success nigh on impossible.
Foundation
Without existing content & branding, I used the logo as inspiration for
the website design, and after defining the clients requirements was able
to determine the structure for each page – always keeping the audience
in mind!
With sitemap & wireframes in place, I built each page, testing the
appearance & functionality using imported “dummy” content.
An alien race has rejected our diplomatic overtures and gone straight
on to the offensive. They’ve launched an asteroid at Earth.
Functional
It was important to The Headfunk that the website would be easy for them
to use, and easy for their audience to navigate. Simple to post podcast
episodes and for visitors to be able to listen to episodes on the site,
with clear show-notes.
The functionality to easily add affiliate links was integrated, along
with the clients preferred ESP (Email Service Provider).
We have one chance to deflect its course. A state-of-the-art Mech
battle robot.
Handover
A few rounds of work later and The Headfunk was complete. From a simple concept to a complete website; easy to use & navigate.
The look & style of The Headfunk was built from the ground up inspired by the logo. Establishing a consistent brand feel & colour scheme, reflecting a masculine yet open feeling that matches the emotional content of the podcast.
Using plugins & custom coding, The Headfunk’s functionality & aesthetic exceeded the clients expectations.

My aim is to create a website that helps you to reach your goals & provide real measurable value.
Each project begins by learning as much as I can about your needs &
business, in order to get a crystal clear picture of issues your users
may be facing and an insight into how to ensure your site performs.
I want to identify your goals, along with where your needs are not being
met. This allows me to help to get you where you want to be.

confident that the site we build together will give you the results
you’re hoping for.
Attention to detail is key, which I combine with a results-driven
approach when designing my client’s websites.
